ABOUT TY LINKER

Hey, I’m Ty Linker,

I was born and raised in North Alabama and moved to Texas in my early 20s. I got into welding because I wanted to build a better life for myself and my children. That decision turned into a career that’s taken me all across America, welding in some of the most incredible places with the best views imaginable.

I started Out on the R.O.W. as a way to connect with other welders and the hardworking people who live life on the road. I love talking about my career, hearing other people’s stories, and giving tradesmen and women a place to share what they do and why they love it.

With the help of Arkansas Elite Welding Academy, I was also able to launch the Shield Arcing Showdown. This welding competition is about more than just laying down a good bead, it’s about creating opportunities. Our mission is to award a scholarship to someone 18 years or older who wants to pursue a career in welding and give them the chance to change their life through the skilled trades.

Whether I’m on a row, behind a microphone, or hosting a welding competition, my goal is simple: promote the trades, share real stories from real people, and help open doors for the next generation of welders.
